It made me feel I could make the difference I wanted.

Before I started university, I wanted a job that would allow me to create a positive difference in society as well as to grow and develop myself. Since I had already been volunteering with The Hidden Good (THG) for small projects while I was in Army, I thought that joining THG more regularly would allow me to work towards my aspiration of creating this positive impact.

Little did I know, that I would grow exponentially over following months with THG. I started off small, speaking to students for THG’s Social Advocacy School Programmes. Speaking to students was definitely one of my favourite activities and it made me feel that I could make the difference that I wanted. This gave me a lot of confidence and heart to continue working with THG. It was then when I started leading bigger projects like the MP3 Experiment and Life's a Beach.

Being the Project Manager for the MP3 Experiment, while undoubtedly tough, gave me the opportunity to develop myself as a leader and built up my confidence and resilience. I liaised with entities and people far more experienced and larger than me, which helped immensely in developing my skills and confidence. More importantly, it gave me the opportunity to grow a team. I learned a great deal team from my team members about leadership, accountability, enthusiasm and much much more, which I am very grateful for. Aside from the impact that I was able to create for society through these events, I was also afforded the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the core team, which I have been very lucky to do.

Altogether, I'm happy to say that I was involved in many projects with The Hidden Good, and proud to say that I had given my best to make the difference that I have always wanted to create!
