Music and art has been an important part of my life, especially when it can inspire and make others happy.
Music heals me and competing in singing competitions like Singapore Idol, Asia Got Talent and I Love OPM, keeps me going. It is not popularity that I am after. I am blessed with His Gift. He has helped me in moving on with life, and to reach out, to inspire. I hope to reach out to others with my strength and positivity.
I have been competing all my life. When I am performing on stage, not many people will know that that performance could have been my last.
Music and art became an important part of my life when it was all that I could do, growing up with a congenital disease known as Fallot’s Tetralogy. I was born with a hole in my heart and a narrow pulmonary valve. I have gone through an open heart surgery when I was two years old.
Later on, I discovered that I suffer from endometriosis – a painful disorder in which tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus (the endometrium) grows outside the uterus; as well as didelphic uterus (twin uterus) with a solitary kidney.
I have been enduring the pain from endometriosis for more than 8 years and continue to be under doctor’s supervision. I have tried everything, from hormone pills to alternative natural medications. I had to make a difficult decision recently, which was to remove one of my uterus due to severe pain and cyst.
I keep telling myself, “Life goes on, and do whatever that makes you happy.”
I will continue to pursue my dreams, and be an inspiration to others.
My inner voice keeps telling me, “If you give up now, that means, you have failed.”
I will keep on going, pursuing my dreams of becoming an international singer so that I can inspire others.
I want to inspire children with terminal illness and women with endometriosis (Endowarriors). I hope to put some smiles back to these special people, and in a way, I will feel happy as well. Making people happy is like a remedy for me.
I want to live my life to the fullest, and cherish every moment that I have.
