Mona

We merely belonged together in a phase of time.

Darbush,

You proudly carried an odd Tamil name short for watermelon...

Arousing curiosity in the minds of many, unable to create a link between the two...

You were tough on the outside but soft on the inside, just like your name...

But what they did not know was,

You were also my tiny brown feathered warrior who stood close to my heart.

You made me realise that every entity has a destiny written in their fate...

Moulding them to what they are and to bring them to where they truly belonged...

Like a wingless angel, you were lying helplessly on the pavement...

And found your way into my heart and my life…

Teaching me lessons of time that I would cherish and value forever.

You taught me that no matter how tiny or insignificant you might be...

Never to be intimidated by those who are bigger and superior...

Instead, look and learn while continuously fighting for what you believed in.

You reminded me that my time shall come too…

And to be grateful but never obligated to those who lent a hand in your growth...

For no one belongs to anybody…

just like how you did not belong to me...

Nor can we be confined by illusionistic cages…

We merely belonged together in a phase of time …
