A Request to Covid19 Virus করোনা ভাইরাসের কাছে আজ আমার প্রার্থনা

Taking up the name of ‘Covid19’

কভিড ঊনিশ নাম ধরে বিশ্বের সকল দ্বারে

This virus had spread its fangs in all corners of the world.

রোগ ছড়ালে মহামারী বন্দী রইলাম ঘরে।

The name itself strikes fear in every heart,

নাম শুনেই ভয়ে সবার শুকিয়ে যায় যে বুক

Even love cannot solace the panic of this heart.

ভালোবাসাও পানসে লাগে মনেতে পাইনা সুখ।

Cannot keep the word of my beloved too

ইচ্ছে হলেই পারিনা যেতে প্রিয়ার তনুতে মিশে

Lose all sense of direction, do not know what to do?

রাখতে গেলে তার কথা হারিয়ে ফেলি যে দিশে।

The nurses perform their duties in fear,

সেবা করে সেবিকারা যেন সতত অন্তরে ভয়

The doctors are sacred about what might happen!

রক্ষা পায়নি ডাক্তার সেথা কখন কি যেন হয়।

Family and friends’ coil with fear at just a touch,

কাছের মানুষ নাহি স্পর্শে দূরেতে চলিয়া যায়

A son’s dead body is not allowed to be touched by his dad.

ছেলে মারা গেলেও যে বাবা ছুঁইতে পারেনা হায়।

Mankind stands still in your deadly grasp

আজ তোমার করাল গ্রাসে থেমে গেছে সব কোলাহল

জন-জীবন সব কিছুই আজ হয়ে অচল।

We have bowed our heads in fear of you.

আমরা যে অসহায় আজ তোমারি ভয়ে ভীত

মানব জাতি তোমারি কাছে করিছে যে মাথা নত।

Mother Nature please protect us,

রক্ষা করো হে প্রকৃতি মোদের না হয় মরিবে সবে

Without you everything will be obliviated.

প্রার্থনা করি তোমার কাছে মোদের প্রশান্তি দিবে।

Everything is broken, all have lost hope,

থমকে গেলে জীবন গাড়ি ভাঙবে আশার ঘর

Soon the rains and cyclones will be our doom.

নামবে তখন বিশ্বজুড়ে প্রলয়ের বৃষ্টি ঝড়।।

Asit Kumar Baroi (Bangali)  

Asit Kumar Baroi (Bangali) came to Singapore for the first time in September 2009, left, and came back again in June 2011. Since then, he has become a regular contributor for Banglar Kantha. Asit has also acted in documentaries and student initiatives that are based on Migrant Workers, and scripted an educational drama titled “The Girlfriend”. He had published a novel titled“Onek Diner Phool” and his poetry collection called “Feriwala” (The Street Vendor) in 2018.

অসিত কুমারবাড়ৈ ২০০৯ সালের ২৮ সেপ্টেম্বর সিঙ্গাপুরে পাড়ি জমান এবং ২০১০ সালের ১৪ আগস্ট দেশেচলে যান। দ্বিতীয়বার ২০১১ সালের ১৩ জুন সিঙ্গাপুরে আসেন। তিনি ২০১১ সালের নভেম্বরমাসে বাংলার কণ্ঠ’র সাথে সম্পৃক্ত হন।২০১৪ এরনভেম্বরে বাংলার কন্ঠের উদ্যোগে অভিবাসী কর্মীদের নিয়ে ন্যাশনাল লাইব্রেরীতেআয়োজিত সিঙ্গাপুরে শ্রমজীবী অভিবাসীদের প্রথম কবিত প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশগ্রহণ করেন।২০০৫ সালে তার উপন্যাস "অনেক দিনের কুড়ানো ফুল" প্রকাশিত হয়। সিঙ্গাপুরেশ্রমজীবী অভিবাসীদের সাহিত্যচর্চায় উৎসাহ দানের লক্ষ্যে বাংলার কণ্ঠ’র ধারাবাহিকবই প্রকাশনার অংশ হিসেবে ২০১৮ সালে অসিত কুমার বাড়ৈ’র কবিতা সংগ্রহ “ফেরিওয়ালা (The Street Vendor) প্রকাশিতহয়। বর্তমানে অসিত সিঙ্গাপুরে নির্মাণ ক্ষেত্রে কর্মরত।
