I could use my oratorical skills to spread awareness and come up with a movement to help people who are suffering from urban poverty. I think that most people who are not suffering from urban poverty are not aware of the issue in Singapore. Hence, we should raise awareness of the problem and bring it up to the government. By persuading the government, they can break the cycle of poverty generation by generation, and tackling the core problem. Not to just give them subsidies but to also find suitable jobs for them, or set compulsory courses so that the poor can learn skills to apply for a job that is suitable for them. We have to tackle the core problem by providing them a stable income instead of only giving them subsidies to alleviate the problem.
