Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle
Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle
Established in 1965, Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle started off as a small cottage industry by Mr Tam Kim Seh, who bought over the dragon kiln that was first built in 1940, from the previous owner. Initially, Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle produced latex cups, which were necessities to the rubber plantations nearby. It also met the demands of the local consumer market by manufacturing water jars, which could be used as bathwater storage. Today, Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle sustains its business on imports and exports and selling almost anything from ornament vases, hanging pots and lamp-stands, urns, and souvenir pottery for hotels and tourists. They also organise workshops, educational tours and many different programmes to cater to different groups of people.
