A profound source of personal growth for us.

The saying that goes "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life" is often misinterpreted as actualizing this nirvana where the means of earning an income becomes effortless. That being passionate about what you do is sufficient to achieve success, especially in the creative scene where it's often associated as being decorative and full of fluff. It's actually about recognizing what we can offer so that work becomes an essential part of our lives, instead of a separate, excruciating one.

While others see Fictive Fingers as a creative business, it's a profound source of personal growth for us. We didn't pursue it because we didn't want a 9 to 5. In fact, there are days we work more than 12 hours a day when a project demands it. We set ourselves on this uphill battle to thrive on unconventional methods and limitations to create a dialogue through our work, to reignite the sense of wonder and curiosity for how things are made. Shallow, extrinsic motivators like status, money and approval are pervasive in our society so we made it a point to remind each other that anything that goes against our purpose, is not for us.
