Passion for Art.

I grew up in Penang, Malaysia and now lives and works in Penang. His passion for art began self thought at a young age. Gary’s was in advertising background for 20 several years.

I was given the opportunity to study at Equator Academy of Art for three years. This set his foundation as an garphic designer and throughout his early years as he focused primarily on drawing chinese charector.

After three years of an graphic design, I moved forward, work in several advertising agency. I won several design award. This pushed me to expand my horizons and tap into new areas of graphic design I had not yet explored. There was an obvious freedom and personal expression with abstraction and it was then that I really began to flourish. He was deeply interested in the owls, and the emotional response to strong composition and design. By removing the representational and creating something that told a story without an observational subject matter was very exciting.

I has exhibited my art work in solo exhibition was all sold and group exhibitions including the WWF-Malaysia “Art-For-Nature” exhibition, in St.Jo’s Gurney Paragon Mall,Penang,Malaysia.

Today, my work is a bold mix of styles, ranging from sleek and contemporary to weathered and organic. He brings a subtle and sophisticated feel to my paintings through a unique balance of color, composition and texture. My work is exhibited in the most prestigious galleries and featured in private collections.

"The art world is never going to be popular like the National Football League, but more people are buying art and I think that's cushioning, to a great extent, our art-market cycles. I would like the people that buy my art painting to understand that for me it's one great piece of art.”
