My artwork is about people, laborer.
In the beginning of create this artwork. I don’t know what kind of artwork and message I wish to bring. After a few discussions with lecturer, I decide to target on laborer such as farmer, fisherman, and construction worker and so on.
I went back to my hometown. While I was asking people where to look for the location or people I wish to shoot, I have heard that there is a temple is in construct. I try to speak with the owner of the construction site and I start to go around inside the construction temple and shoot some pictures.
Most of them are foreign workers. While I was walking around up and down taking pictures of them, they start talking with me and ask me where I from. One of the laborers have worked here for almost eleven years, he only go back home once a year.
I spend two mornings to shoot the picture. From the entire picture I took, my favorite one is picture of their hands because it represents everything.
Portrait photography is always my weakness in photography but now I found that I was better than I thought and all of this is out of my expectation. Through doing the things that I am not that good in it, I have learned to let go of my fear and doubt.
