Life is never a bed of roses.
As a person, I am always mindful that life is never a bed of roses.
Since I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2010, I value life all the more. I became more determined to move on. In 2013, I joined the TTSH Colon Cancer Patient Support Group as a volunteer since it was a good platform to give back to society. It also helps me to contain my sickness.
Being a volunteer gives me satisfaction as I am able to give hope to those suffering from Colon Cancer. Having gone through cancer myself, I was able to help others by counselling them on how to deal with the sickness and staying positive. At the same time, it also gave me the courage and strength to face my own difficulties in life.
I would recommend that those who wants to brighten the lives of others to come forward to volunteer as it is very fulfilling.
