Kindness begets kindness.
The best of me comes from people who bring me down. Without them, I won’t be where I am today. I am a confident trainee nurse now because those people who looked down on me were obstacles that I passed.
Whenever they bring me down, I will find a way to bring myself up. For example, when I was in secondary school, I was described as “flamboyant” and they gave me names like “Ah Gua”.
They also insulted me and made fun of me. At that point, I couldn’t fight back and could only accept it. However, deep inside me I wanted to prove them wrong. That’s why I worked hard at becoming a nurse.
I wanted to show them that one day, this “Ah Gua” will be the one taking care of their mothers. This “Ah Gua” is going to prove them wrong.
I do not hate those people because they helped me realise my dream of helping people. I just want to tell others to be nice to people because kindness begets kindness.
